This mount is based on the mechanics of the GM4000 HPS II and offers a very stable altazimuthal configuration: the AZ4000 HPS is a very versatile research mount, perfect for scientific activities such as satellite tracking, photometric and astrometric measurements, LiDaR laser applications and so on. Due to its altazimuthal design, astrophotography requires a field rotator. With an image field rotator (we recommend the IR90 from Planewave and the Gemini from Optec), "classic" astrophotography with the usual 10 micron precision is also possible.
The standard version allows to assembly the optics to only a side of the mount and is supplied with a counterweight bar. Optional the double telescope version allows the use of two or more optics in a side by side setup, optimizing the load of the Mount and taking advantage of the altazimuth configuration.
Designed to offer a great sturdiness with no flexures, is all made from machined aluminized alloy. You can order the AZ4000 HPS Mount already configured with the Double Telescope option, or buy it after as an accessory.
The last available 10Micron AZ4000 mounts with Control Box Version 2 can now be purchased directly from stock with a 15% discount – while supplies last.
IMPORTANT: The Control Box V2 has proven itself in hundreds of observatories and in mobile use, and remains fully capable in Version 2. It will continue to be supported with firmware updates. Purchasing a mount with Control Box V2 is therefore still a secure investment. 10Micron guarantees full support and repairs – even for the first generation of QCI mounts, which were launched over 20 years ago.
