The PEGASUS is a wooden tripod, specific for GM2000 series mounts, developed and manufactured in collaboration with Geoptik and it’s a 100% made in Italy product.
It has been designed to offer good stability, light weight and it represents the perfect choice for field use combined with the Ultraport and Combi series mounts.
The old adage "Every chain is only as strong as its weakest link" also applies to tripods. If the tripod is not stable, the mount cannot perform to its full potential. The Pegasus tripod is based on an ultra-modern design in which the entire tripod leg is attached to the mount plate in a torsion-resistant manner. It can carry at least twice as much as wooden tripods of the same weight with a conventional design, where torsion occurs under high loads, which leads to susceptibility to vibrations.
Another important design detail are the flexible attachments (polymer pads) on the ends of the legs, which are flexibly attached with ball heads and cannot sink into the ground thanks to their 80mm diameter.
